Egolysis™ – a short, practical path to „Who am I?“
Gnothi seauton – know yourself. For thousands of years, people have searched for the answer to what may be the most important question of their lives: “Who am I?”
The Oracle of Delphi became an existential meeting point for many. Back in today’s everyday life, the longing for clarity and orientation remains timeless.
Know yourself – anyone who has tried to follow this instruction directly may have noticed that the answer is anything but easy. Egolysis is a short, practical path toward answering this question.
The starting point of our journey is – like so often – a (supposed) obstacle. The spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle writes:
„It is through knowing who you are not that the greatest obstacle to truly knowing yourself is removed.“
Who I am not – that is surprisingly easy to find. My neighbor, for example, or my job title. Also not my height or the role I am currently playing.
Or a thought about myself that I’ve discovered isn’t true, such as “I’m not good enough.” That’s not me either. Note: You can find the quick wash to examine worries here.
A thought about myself…
I am…
I am not…
I must not…
Wait a minute—those are my worries!
Am I my worries? No!
The worry itself becomes a signpost
A belief becomes a puzzle piece. Their overall picture reveals the greatest obstacle: the imagined identity – who I believe myself to be.
Egolysis separates the observer from the worry. And by doing so, it removes the greatest obstacle to recognizing who you truly are.
The curtain between you and your freedom is exactly one thought thick.
Egolysis is:
The underbody wash in the Worry Wash
A reverse‑engineering approach that makes your imagined identity — the ego — visible
Enabling detachment from the ego. Chemically: Lysis = to detach. Hence the term „Egolysis„
A direct path out of mentally created suffering
A clear, structured process toward inner freedom
Egolysis is NOT:
Self‑excintcion
Therapy
Coaching
Esotericism
The Work
A promise of awakening
Self‑optimization
A spiritual event
A wellness oasis
How Egolysis works
Step 1 – The Worry
A worry is examined inspired by The Work. Clear. Honest. Without pressure.
Here we focus on specific worries — the ones that touch your sense of self‑worth.
Step 2 – The Conclusion
After the inquiry, we ask three simple questions:
Is the worry true?
Is it helpful?
Could it be part of my imagined identity?
Step 3 – The Puzzle Pieces
If a worry says something about you — your worth, your role, your “I” — it becomes a puzzle piece. Piece by piece, it becomes clear that many seemingly different problems point to the same address.
Examples:
“I’m not good enough.”
“I’m not welcome.”
“I must not be weak.”
“My worth depends on others’ interest.”
Step 4 – The Mask
After about five puzzle pieces, something becomes visible:
Who you believe yourself to be.
A note: I do not promise so‑called “awakening.” It belongs to being — not to wanting, thinking, or doing. It happens when you become quiet and allow space for it.
The space behind the mask
Egolysis enables a profound insight described for thousands of years across many spiritual traditions. It leads away from the perspective of a needy “I” and toward a way of being in which people:
Recognize their true self
Experience stillness and peace
Are less dominated by thinking
Feel gratitude, joy, and compassion deeply
Move calmly through challenges
Act from clarity and abundance
Develop the ability to shape life from the true self
What makes Egolysis unique
You don’t have to...
…meditate for years to see what is already there in truth.
As the imagined identity...
…consists of surprisingly few fundamental worries, the process remains manageable and tangible.
Egolysis is...
…no self-extinction. You remain fully intact—just without the constant internal alarm.
What often takes a long time on other paths becomes visible here step by step.
In stillness. Your worries show you the way.
The art of landing
This peak moment of insight can be radiant — echoing within you like a distant, powerful symphony. But the truth is also this: insight is the spark, while integration is the fire that keeps you warm.
Without this second step, we risk escaping into “spiritual flight” — floating above everything, yet losing contact with the ground, with our feelings, and with the people around us.
True mastery does not mean leaving the world behind, but standing in the middle of it with this new spaciousness. With both feet in the dirt and your head in stardust.
Good to know
This work does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.
I am neither a guru nor your savior. I do not offer you a new identity to hold on to — I accompany you in examining your own.
If you are looking for someone to take responsibility for your life or to act as a parental authority, you won’t find that here.
But if you want to uncover your own clarity, you are warmly welcome.
